Hello and welcome to the coverage of day 3 of the third Test between England and India at The Rose Bowl, Southampton. The day's play starts at 3.30 pm IST. Follow this link for live scores and updates.
Right! The overnight Indian batsmen - Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara have made their way out to the middle. James Anderson will start off proceedings for England.
It's been a scratchy start by India. Anderson beat Vijay with a lovely outswinger off the first ball of the day. He then bowled a fiery bouncer to Vijay in his 2nd over of the day. Vijay looked to fend it away but it flew inches past the gloves. The England players went up in an appeal for a caught behind but the umpire remained unmoved.
Good decision as there was nothing on the snicko.
Anderson went round the wicket for a couple of deliveries. Pujara guided him for a boundary to third man and then flicked him to deep square leg for a couple. Anderson then straightaway went from over the wicket. India getting a slight move on here.
Woakes who shared the new ball with Anderson bowled at a good pace. But it's Anderson who's looking threatening.
The Indian batsmen are slowly getting into the groove. Pujara hits a cracking straight drive for a boundary off Anderson. Vijay then uppishly guides one through gully for a boundary.
Anderson didn't seem impressed with the ball and the umpires decided to change it.
Anderson bowling well in patches, one-odd unplayable delivery.
Vijay then plays a sublime flick for a boundary off Anderson. But gets an outside edge which falls short of the second slip fielder off the very next ball.
OUT! Broad removes Pujara who looks to sway away from a bouncer but it flicks his gloves on its way to the keeper. A very good delivery from Broad.

Virat Kohli is the new batsman. He is under a lot of pressure to perform.
Looks like England are going for fiery stuff. Anderson bowls a couple of brilliant short deliveries. Vijay just about sways away from the line. Good stuff.
Drinks: Kohli has got going with a gorgeous cover drive off Jordan. Vijay then punches one through mid off for a boundary to make it 14 runs off the over after Jordan had gone for five wides off the first delivery of his spell.
Vijay played a couple of elegant flicks but they went straight to the fielder at mid-wicket. He then went for a drive off Jordan but got an outside edge between the slip cordon and gully for a streaky boundary.
OUT! Broad gets the big one, removes Vijay who misjudges his leave & gets a bottom edge onto the stumps. Short of a good length delivery outside off, Vijay looks to leave but then, he is caught in two minds. He looks to leave it late, the ball takes the bottom edge and rattles the timber. A big blow for India.

Ajinkya Rahane is the new batsman.
The short ball nearly did the trick!!! Short on middle and leg, Rahane is early into his pull, it takes his gloves and lobs short of the second slip fielder.
Broad is in the midst of a good spell here.
Kohli and Rahane are playing cautiously now.
Moeen Ali into the attack now.
Rahane leans forward and plays a lovely cover drive off Moeen , India's 100 comes up! The visitors need a big partnership here.
Rahane survives a caught behind appeal off Moeen Ali. However Hot-Spot replays showed there was glove involved!!! Lucky escape.......
That's lunch on day 3: Kohli & Rahane make sure there are no more slip-ups before lunch. 83 runs scored for loss of 2 wkts in 1st session. A session slightly tilted in England's favour. Loads of work ahead for India.....
Right back after lunch....
Moeen Will start off proceedings for England.
India have started off positively after lunch. Rahane produced a lovely cover drive off Moeen Ali and then Kohli bettered it with a gorgeous extra cover drive off Anderson.
Edgy!!!! Kohli flirting with danger, looks to cut off a short ball but gets an outside edge which flies just over 1st slip for a boundary.
OUT! Anderson has Kohli(39) caught in slips. Again, playing away from the body. IND-136/4. Length delivery outside off, shaping away. Kohli pushes at it and gets an outside edge to first slip where Cook makes no mistake.

Rohit Sharma is the new batsman.
