It is day two of the first Test at Trent Bridge and the match is nicely poised. At 259 for 4, India will think they can turn the screws on England with a good first session. England will be thinking a couple of early wickets will peg India back.
Despite Murali Vijay's hundred, MS Dhoni might be the key to what happens next. He batted with unusual assurance having come in at No. 6 and if he can get going early, he could well take the game away from England.
Vijay was the star of day one, of course. He did not look like getting out during his six hours at the crease and has given India a chance to strike the first blow in this series.
We are a little less than 30 minutes away from the start of what could be a very interesting day's play.
No discussion of yesterday's play would be complete without a mention of the pitch, which was pretty much flat.
There was little movement and little bounce and if you were disciplined, as Vijay was, runs were there to be had.
The nature of the pitch also upset the English bowlers.
However, the Trent Bridge groundsman, Steve Birks, thinks the pitch will quicken up on the second and third days.
"We wanted to produce a pitch with pace, bounce and carry which hasn't happened unfortunately," Birks said. "There's quite a lot of moisture underneath but it's a hard surface on top which is why it's lacking pace. The moisture readings taken earlier in the week were quite high and we haven't seen enough of the sun to really bake it out."
One area where India have typically struggled is putting the hammer down when they have the advantage. It cost them in England three years ago and in Australia. As well as in the recent New Zealand South Africa series.
Dhoni is in the perfect position to put an end to that trend.
Early impressions of the pitch are not exactly encouraging for England.
MS Dhoni and Vijay are out in the middle. Dhoni will take strike to Broad.
There is only one slip in place for a ball that is 9 overs old.
Straight away the ball fails to carry to Prior. The ball only got up to ankle height.
A maiden over to start with. Dhoni made a last-moment decision to try and hit the last ball of the over but only succeeded in driving it into the ground in front of him.
Let's hope that over is an aberration and not an indication of how today is going to go.
Anderson to bowl the second over.
Vijay lets the first delivery he faces sail through to Prior. So more the same then.
Anderson gets Vijay to play a loose stroke to one wide of offstump that cut back. It didn't come close to carrying to Prior though.
FOUR! A thick edge runs away to the third man boundary. Clearly it will be more of the same today.
That boundary, Vijay's 21st, are the only runs of the day so far.
DROPPED Full from Broad. Dhoni is sucked in to the drive, the ball takes the edge but Prior can only only knock it away with this right hand.
Dhoni can't resists an airy-fairy cut off the next ball and is beaten again. He needs to settle down here.
Broad beats Dhoni a third time with another pitched up delivery. Dhoni flicks his wrists at it but can't make contact.
At the other end, Vijay continues to leave Anderson alone.
Vijay was masterful in getting England to bowl at him yesterday.
Right on cue Anderson fires one down the leg side but Vijay misses his flick as the ball seams even further down leg.
More of Broad to Dhoni now.
Broad's first two deliveries are far too wide and Dhoni doesn't have to play at either one.
Broad pitches one up. Dhoni plays and misses again. Broad throws his arms up in frustration.
Another maiden from Broad.
FOUR! Anderson pitches it up a la Broad but unlike Dhoni, Vijay is in position early and spanks the ball past extra-cover.
Vijay seems to be channeling the spirit of Sunil Gavaskar in this innings.
Manjrekar and Ganguly are deconstructing Dhoni's troubles outside off. The basic issue seems to be a lack of weight transfer from back foot to front foot.
Broad brings one back at Vijay, who shoulders arms and is relieved when the ball whispers past offstump.
Broad covers his head in his hands. He is not a happy camper, is Broad.
Broad causing lots of problems. Vijay drives away from his body and the result is an inside edge that just evades the stumps. India living dangerously.
Anderson now causing Dhoni problems. Brings one back when Dhoni was looking to leave it and the batsman is struck high on the pad.
